With the COVID-19 pandemic, a lot has changed in the way we live, work and learn. As kids stay home and have to do remote learning, many cases are that children are forced to do a lot of homework given out by the school. However, school is not just about acquiring knowledge. It is also about developing interpersonal relationships and learning from others. Therefore, it is also critical for children to learn soft skills such as teamwork and communication in school to help preparing them for the future.

The most commonly used online learning tools today often take the style of webinar, where communication between teachers and students is one-directional. With Odaiba, it aims to bring back the fun bits of school to home learning through interactive lessons. We took the concept of pair programming, which a highly effective approach in online learning, to provide a more dynamic and group work focused remote study experience. Meanwhile, the teacher can monitor all students’ progress on the screen and join individual groups to help out those who fall behind.
